This heralded symphony rises and falls and it’s difficult to remain attentive, but the audience is rewarded in the end; the last movement is the most interesting. And the Phil is reliably outstanding. Die-hard fans of Bruckner will be delighted, and others can catch up on some inner reflections, undisturbed, save the inevitable cell phone ring.
